"Discovery" Inquirers' and New Members'
Seminar
This quarterly class, taught by Elders and Staff, is
required for those who wish to become members of Riverside (though attending
the class does not obligate you to become a member). Discovery
highlights what it means to be a Christian and what is expected of you as a

Spiritual Gifts Seminar
Many Christians agonize
over the question, “What is God’s will for my life—what is it, exactly, that
God wants me TO DO?” We have
made the answer to this question very complex—as if there were some major
mystery that God is hiding from
us, that we must unpack and discover. Biblically, however, we like the way
St. Augustine answered the question. Essentially, his take was that if you
want to do God’s will, then do two things, in this order: First, endeavor to
love and obey God in whatever
you are doing, and second, as you love and obey God—do
whatever you want.
The
Spiritual Gifts seminar
focuses specifically on
the fact that God, in his mercy, gives a unique role to each individual in
the service of his church. Each person is uniquely wired with
Spiritual gifts, meant to be
used to honor God and strengthen people and the church (Romans 12:1-8).

House
Groups
House Groups meet in homes on a
regular basis for enjoying friendship, Bible study, prayer, and for outreach
to those in need of a relationship with Christ or who are new to Riverside. Because our church is consistently growing in number,
House Groups are a key avenue for people to preserve authentic,
mutually encouraging, and accountable relationships. All who are able
are encouraged to be part of a House Group. For more info

Ministry Teams
At
Riverside we assume that the ministry of the church is accomplished
through the people of the church. Our staff and leaders
serve the specific purpose of equipping and providing
opportunities for all people in our church family to make a
difference, not just a select few. Because life at
Riverside is highly relational, we believe that the best ministry is
accomplished by Teams of people who share a common vision with our church
for effective upreach, inreach, and outreach. There are all sorts of
Teams to choose from. For more

One of the great strengths of
Riverside is the ease with which people are able to connect with the community
and quickly become active in the life and ministries of the church.
There is a wide variety of opportunities for spiritual growth and service
at Riverside, and an expanding family of people from which to make life-long
friendships.
