Zack
Zack Eswine (email) serves the Riverside Community as Senior Pastor. His role focuses his time on setting vision, preaching, spiritual formation and care for the Riverside Elders and Staff. Zack and his wife Jessica live with their three children as a blended family here in Webster Groves. If stranded on a desert island a bible, some paper and a pen would be great! If he could have just a few books, he'd have some poems by Mary Oliver, the novel Jayber Crow by Wendell Berry, the Letters of Francis Schaeffer, the Letters of Jack Miller, and Reaching Out by Henri Nouwen. If that island had magical electricity, Zack would enjoy music from the Broadway musical Les Miserables, The Rising by Bruce Springsteen, some songs by Kieth Green and Journey to a Rainbow by Chuck Mangione. If he could watch Braveheart, Glory, the Natural, and some episodes from Mad About You or As Time Goes By that would also be sweet! Dr. Eswine has served in pastoral roles for over eighteen years. He served as Assistant Professor of Homiletics and Director for Doctor of Ministry for six years at Covenant Theological Seminary. Zack's most recent book is entitled, Preaching to a Post-Everything World: Crafting Biblical Sermons that Connect with our Culture (Baker, 2008). Zack longs for a Riverside environment that fosters a prayerful, human, truthful attempt to love and learn from Jesus.
